Pilates has been part of my life for the last 10 years. Having suffered with joint problems since childhood it has given me the ability to enjoy all areas of physical fitness pain free. By strengthening and installing posture awareness Pilates has been a medication for me and it is now my ambition in life to help others improve their physical wellbeing through the practice of Pilates.
I completed my level 3 diploma in teaching Pilates with the PFE Modern Pilates teaching association. Modern Pilates is a unique clinical and contemporary approach to Pilates, it concentrates on the functional stability, postural alignment and core stability and was created by Physiotherapists and Clinical Pilates Practitioners. It is based on the original works of Joseph Pilates by combining his principles with all the recent research and knowledge of fitness, exercise and core stability. The unique exercises have been devised in conjunction with physiotherapists to bring specific exercises that look at posture, back, hip and knee stability and strength while working on core function. Due to its physiotherapy nature it can be used towards injury rehabilitation.
With my qualification of level 3 Anatomy and physiology for exercise, I look to install positive posture awareness to promote correct body alignment in order to reduce the risk of injury specifically back problems.
My method of teaching involves being hands-on in order to guide and support you in achieving your potential during our sessions and beyond.
